The garment is redrawn as line art and read from the photo: type, silhouette, visible construction, closures, a hedged fabric guess. The DXF tier is estimated from the same read.

The quote is the same ladder the checkout charges ($29 / $59 / $129 by complexity); the pattern maker confirms the tier when the order is created. Or carry the sketch into the studio first.
Questions
Is this a tech pack?
No. It is a brief: the sketch and a read of the photo, enough to start a conversation with a pattern maker. A factory tech pack carries measurements, callouts, a bill of materials and construction notes, which a professional pattern maker adds as a $10 add-on to the production pattern.
How is the price estimated?
From the garment read, the way the order system classifies complexity: simple garments (2 to 6 pieces) at $29, standard (7 to 15) at $59, complex (16 and more) at $129. The tier shown here is an estimate; the pattern maker confirms it when the order is created and that price is the one charged.
Who cuts the pattern?
A professional pattern maker, in production pattern software, delivering AAMA/ASTM DXF-2 files to your Projects page within 48 hours to 5 days of claiming the order. The fee is passed on to the maker in full.
Is it really free, and what happens to my photo?
The brief is free: two uses per browser, no account and no card. Your photo is stored for 30 days for this tool only, then deleted. The pattern itself is paid at checkout, in dollars, only if you order it.
