The garment is redrawn as line art: silhouette, seams, pockets, closures and collar, front view, no colour, no shading. One garment per photo works best: if the photo shows an outfit, the whole outfit is drawn. Details that are not visible in the photo may be drawn differently, so check the sketch against your garment before using it in a brief.

What file do I get?
A line drawing of the front of the garment, black on white, as an image to download from the page. It is an image, not a vector file.
How long does it take?
About twenty seconds a render. One photo goes in, one flat sketch comes out; the next garment starts on the same page.
What does it cost after the free renders?

Is this a technical flat I can send to a factory?
It is a flat sketch illustration: a clean line drawing of the garment. A factory-ready technical flat carries callouts, measurements and construction notes, which a professional pattern maker adds when you order the DXF pattern and the tech pack add-on. Does it draw the back view?
This tool draws the front view. Carry the sketch into the studio to ask for the back view of the same garment.
What photo works best?
A sharp photo where the whole garment is visible, on a hanger, flat or worn. Prints and textures are simplified to lines on purpose; construction details such as pockets and seams read best when they are visible in the photo.
What happens to my photo?
Your photo is stored for 30 days, then deleted. It is used to make your image, and by the studio if you continue there. If you order a pattern from it, a copy is kept with your order.
Does it work from a photo already on a model?
Yes. Worn, on a mannequin, on a hanger or flat: the person and the background are left out and only the garment is drawn.
Can I do my whole catalogue, at 5 credits a garment?
Yes, one garment after another. Under every result, Next garment takes the next photo on the same page. Past the free renders a render is 5 credits: 5 credits for the front of a garment, 10 with its back view. Dropping many photos at once is coming; today the page takes one photo at a time.
Is there a free tech pack?
The garment read is free on the pattern page: the garment type, silhouette, construction, closures and fabric, with the pattern quote, within your two free renders across all our tools, with no account. The production DXF pattern is paid, from $29 ($29, $59 or $129 by complexity), cut by a professional pattern maker; the factory tech pack is an add-on at $10, ordered with the pattern.
